As we hugely rely on Google thus, it is difficult to eliminate it from our lives. However, we can at least find out ways by which we can limit its control from our data and information.

To prevent Google from tracking your activity, you can deactivate the Location History option. Disabling this option won’t affect your experience. However, you might lose the ability to view the trips you have taken on Google Maps. Deactivating this option will confine Google Maps from accessing your location.

Also, you can cancel the GPS permission for Google Maps to make sure that it does not keeps an eye on you without you being informed.

You can also disable the Web & App Activity option as it also allows Google to share your location data.

All these setting options are present in one place. To change these settings, open Google Maps app, swipe from the left side to draw the navigation drawer. From here tap to Settings and hit Personal Content. You may find all these options under App History and Location Settings.

If you want to stop Google from doing this, then you need to disable both Web and App Activity and Location History option.

If you don’t have Maps application installed on your smartphone and you want to access privacy settings so, don’t get worried. All you need is to go to your My Activity dashboard. From the left menu search for Activity Controls to gain access to those settings.

If you want to delete any specific location information so, do it from dashboard’s home page.

  1. Data Usage from Android Phones:

Android user’s personal and private information is at high risk because Google retains a lot of user’s information. It includes some personal information like contacts, app usage, and calendar appointments too.

Google knows all about your app usage like for how long you have used it and also the updates for your system.

If you want to prevent this, use Device Information setting present on the Activity Controls page. If you’re going to delete a specific entry merely go back to My Activity dashboard’s homepage.

  1. Search Requests from Google:

When you search anything on Google so, it considerably influences algorithms which aim to find you and your preferences. However, you can control your search requests from the My Activity site.

Either you can break off the feature which records search history or can remove any specific one from the database. But for all previous requests, you have to switch off the Web and App Activity while the later can be done from the home page.

  1. View and Search History from YouTube:

Google also knows what stuff you watch on the internet by using a YouTube account’s view and search history. It’s annoying when anyone interrupts your privacy. However, you can put an end on it.

The options for changing the settings are present at the bottom of the Activity Controls page. Go to the Delete Activity tab to delete the watch history. Similarly, you can also get rid of the search history by merely deleting the search history.

Apart from Google, its home-produced browser, i.e., Google Chrome plays a vital role in tracking users. Google Chrome informs the users all about browsing history over the internet and not just any particular service.

Besides from recording history, Chrome shares your data, sends system information, page content and many more.

To prevent Chrome history and your activity on different websites, go to the Activity Control page. Under the Web and App Activity option, deactivate the Include Chrome History option.

Moreover, you should uncheck the Help improve safe browsing and automatically send usage statistics present inside the Chrome settings. To remove a specific entry within your Chrome logs, you should visit My Activity dashboard.

  1. Voice Recordings from Google Assistant:

It is important to note that all your conversations and queries with Google Assistant get preserved forever. If you want to delete some particular recording and command, you need to search the My Activity page.
